Emma & Jared, Lake Crackenback Resort, Snowy Mountains, NSW, October 2019

Emma and Jared’s wedding location was absolutely picturesque. Emma had booked the most amazing chalet at Lake Crackenback Resort to get ready in, knowing how amazing the getting ready images would be. Whilst the groom and his men had a cool chalet with a pool table, Emma’s chalet had full length windows, a beautiful fireplace and an amazing antler light -perfect for hanging her gown from.

The couple had planned on holding their ceremony down by the lake on the resort, but Mother Nature had other ideas. With sleet, and hail, rain and snow, coupled with strong winds, the sad decision was made at the eleventh hour to move the ceremony indoors (Emma’s jinxed the weather - she was wishing for months for snow on her wedding day!!). So whilst not quite to plan, their ceremony was still beautiful and heartfelt.

After the congratulations and best wishes were had with guests, I rounded up the bridal party to head around to what was to be the ceremony location. The bridal party braved the freezing cold winds and light snow to pose for a couple of kiss photos that Emma still wanted to capture there. Once back in the cars, the snow started (along with hail) and so we made the decision to head down the mountains towards Jindabyne, in search of better weather. We couldn’t help but quickly stop at the beautiful rustic shed at the resort and grab a quick couple photo in the snow before heading down to the trout farm along Thredbo river. At Thredbo river we quickly got some beautiful couple images (mostly kissing as Jared was so cold his lips were blue), before heading onto nearby hills with the bridal party. Much to our dismay, chilling cold 80km hour winds picked up, thwarting our chances of getting many images there. With the bridesmaids in thin shoulder less dresses, it was just too cold!

So down to Lake Jindabyne we went… in the shelter of some tall trees, we captured bridal party images, before getting a few more couple images on the beach alongside the lake. Then it was back in the cars and heading back for the warmth of the reception. After narrowly missing deer that jumped across roads in front of us, we arrived at the beautiful glass windowed restaurant overlooking the resort’s lake - such a beautiful location for a reception. Speeches and wedding games made for some more beautiful images, along with some more guest group images and cutting the cake.
